Hypersonic Kush: A Unique IPA Experience from Roadhouse Brewing

Tom BrewerMarch 31, 2026April 18, 2026

Hypersonic Kush is a West Coast-style IPA brewed by Roadhouse Brewing Company in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, in collaboration with Breakside Brewery out of Portland, Oregon. Released in August 2025, it is the seventh installment in Roadhouse’s experimental “Kush Series”.

The Roadhouse Pub & Eatery is their flagship restaurant located right on the historic Town Square. It is a trendy spot for both craft beer and gastropub food. If you have time and would like to explore other dining options in Jackson Hole, check out this link. Our favorites are The Blue Lion, Million Dollar Cowboy Steakhouse (loud but great proteins), Mural Room, and Jenny Lake Lodge Dining Room.

Hypersonic Kush is a modern West Coast-style IPA brewed in collaboration with Breakside Brewery out of Portland, Oregon. Released in August 2025, it is the seventh installment in Roadhouse’s experimental “Kush Series”.

About Hypersonic Kush

The name reflects a “Citrus Missile” theme, intended to highlight a hop-forward, fast-hitting, and modern IPA that is “deeply aromatic without overpowering the palate”.

  • Style: West Coast IPA
  • ABV: 6.2%
  • Appearance: Straw color typifying a West Coast IPA
  • Flavor Profile: Dank and piney hops, citrus (grapefruit/orange), spicy rye, and a dry, bitter finish.
  • Aroma: A “tropical kush” aroma that combines fruity hops with herbal, dank undertones.
  • Hops: A blend of Zumo, Mosaic, Chinook, and Strata.
  • Mouthfeel: Clean, and refreshing with a “snappy” finish and balanced bitterness.
  • Overall Impression: Nice West Coast style that has plenty of dank to go around with a good punch of piney/grassy notes to finish off your swig. Nothing that floats our boat but enjoyed it just the same.

  • Atlas1: The taste is nice, if slightly underwhelming, with piney, hoppy bitterness. Kinda buttery up front but with a clean, dry finish. Overall, this is a fine beer. Not overly complex, but I don’t mind that as a dig. it’s simple, but tasteful, IPA. Cheers.
  • zeff80: Poured out a hazy, cloudy golden orange color with a small, white head of foam. It left sudsy trails of lace on the glass. It smelled of grapefruit, orange, guava and sweet caramel. Nice tropical fruit taste with toasted caramel and a sharp, piney bitterness.
  • stevoj: Foggy, pale golden pour, fizzy head. Fruity, floral, perfume-y aroma. Taste brings a hint of orange peel, hand soap, floral notes. A bit of a sticky finish, dry.
