Paradigm Brewing Company, located in Tomball, Texas, is a family-friendly, 10,500 square-foot facility offering artisanal ales, lagers, and elevated pub fare.

Founded in 2021 by veterans of the craft beer industry, the brewery emphasizes quality ingredients, blending traditional practices with modern innovation. It features a large beer garden, patio, and amenities like a playground, making it a popular community spot.

The founders and owners of Paradigm Brewing have considerable experience in the craft beer industry, and more importantly, each owner compliments the other’s skill sets.

Not only is their lead brewmaster an expert in his field, he brews some of the better beers in Texas and is affectionately known as Professor Pils.

Paradigm Brewing Haze Project (Hazy IPA) Profile

  • Style: Hazy IPA (New England Style)
  • ABV: 6.5%
  • IBU: 30-50
  • Hops: Brewed primarily with El Dorado and Simcoe hops, providing notes of tropical fruit and citrus (common to most NEIPAs).
  • Appearance: Straw/golden color with light orange hues and a “thin” head with minimal retention.
  • Aroma: The aroma is defined by its heavy dry-hopping process (using Eldorado, Citra, and Idaho 7 hops).
  • Flavor Profile: Distinct notes of mixed berries and tropical stone fruits.
  • Mouthfeel: True to the “Hazy” style, the mouthfeel is engineered for a soft, approachable texture.
  • Overall Impression: While this hazy has a decent nose, smooth body, and is mildly sweet, Paradigm needs to step it up with Haze Project and beef up the body and finish of this beer in order to compete in a crowded IPA space.

Community Reviews & Comments

  • Aroma & Flavor: Reviewers frequently highlight a burst of tropical fruit, citrus, and stone fruit. The use of El Dorado and Simcoe hops provides a “juicy” quality that many find refreshing.
  • Appearance: A common point of discussion is the “haze.” Some community members have noted that it is less opaque than other commercial hazy IPAs, sometimes appearing more like a slightly unfiltered West Coast IPA.
  • Mouthfeel: While described as smooth, several reviews mention a “thin” body. This aligns with the critique found on this blog, which suggests the beer needs a “beefier” body to compete with top-tier hazies.
  • Drinkability: One of its highest-rated attributes is its “crushability.” At 6.5% ABV, many find it to be a great “deck beer” or “poolside” option because it isn’t overly heavy or cloyingly sweet.
