The Drowned Lands is a highly-acclaimed farm brewery located in Warwick, New York famous for its terroir-driven philosophy (the character and flavor imparted by the environment in which the beer is produced). The brewery crafts exceptional farmhouse ales, IPAs, and lagers that showcase the mineral-rich soils and micro-flora of the Hudson Valley’s Black Dirt region.

About The Drowned Lands Sand & Clay Double IPA

- Style: Double IPA – Once an IPA reaches the 7% plus ABV range, it’s entered Double IPA territory. This edition is unfiltered.
- ABV: 8%
- IBU: 20 Range
- Appearance: Pours a milky, cloudy orange.
- Flavor Profile: Tropical fruit, light citrus, and white wine grapes.
- Aroma: Tropical fruits, slightly earthy, with a hint of dank.
- Hops: Citra and a specialized New Zealand hop blend.
- Mouthfeel: Soft, pillowy, fruit forward flavor.
- Food Paring: Fried foods, bacon cheeseburger, Thai curry, and tacos.
Overall Impression: This Double IPA packs a subtle citrus punch but is very smooth both on the front and back-end. Sand & Clay is representative of an NEIPA which is lower in carbonation, doesn’t upset your palate on the way down, with very little, if any, bitterness. The grain bill results in a full-bodied beer that is thick and with a creamy finish. You should exercise some caution with this 8% ABV brew because they go down easy, and often, for a Double IPA.
