Blake’s Triple Jam: A Top-Rated Hard Cider

Tom BrewerMarch 3, 2026April 18, 2026
Outdoor gathering at Blake's Hard Cider, featuring picnic tables filled with people dining and enjoying drinks, surrounded by a festive atmosphere and colorful umbrellas.

Blake’s Hard Cider Company is a family-owned craft cidery based on a historic 1,000-acre orchard in Armada, Michigan. Founded in 2013 by Andrew Blake, a third-generation farmer, the company has grown from a local farm operation into the largest independent hard cider company in the U.S. following its 2023 merger into Blake’s Beverage Company. Blake’s currently operates in Bend, OR, Austin, TX, Wolcott, NY, and Armada, MI. Their ciders are distributed to 35 states and a location is possibly around the corner from your pad.

Unlike many mass-produced ciders, Blake’s uses a proprietary five-apple blend grown right in their “backyard.” This heritage allows them to maintain a “Made by Farmers, Shared with Neighbors” philosophy, producing gluten-free ciders that typically contain significantly less sugar than national competitors.

Blake’s Triple Jam

  • Style: Hard Cider
  • ABV: 6.5% (with an 8% “Big Jam” version also available)
  • Appearance: Translucent ruby red or pinkish hue with lively effervescence.
  • Aroma: A strong scent of candied berries, freshly crushed summer fruit, and subtle apple blossom.
  • Flavor Profile: Fruit forward profile combining strawberries, blackberries, and raspberries with a 100% fresh-pressed apple base.
  • Mouthfeel: : Described as smooth and juicy with a medium-minus body; some reviewers note a slight syrupy texture and a lingering berry finish.
  • Awards: It has received significant recognition, including a Century Medal and a perfect score at the PR%F Awards.
  • Overall Impression: We view Blake’s Triple Jam as one of the top hard ciders available. It’s vibrant, flavorful, not too sweet, and a refreshing beverage for any occasion.

  • Negative: Critics often label it a “sugar bomb” or “toooo much sugar”, with some finding it difficult to finish a whole can due to the intensity.
  • Untappd: Users frequently check in with scores typically ranging from 4.0 to 4.5, highlighting it as a “fan favorite”.
  • Total Wine: Customer reviews average around 4 to 5 stars.
  • Cider Expert: 4 Stars out of 5
